This time we were introduced to a new way of adopting CALL into our lesson plan, and the theme of today's class is YouTube. We went through several videos and presented an interesting way of using these videos to help students enjoy their learning better. The focused language aspect of this lesson is Listening And Speaking as we would like to see our students share their creative thoughts with their peers and able to express themselves using the English language. Therefore, we opted for a very interesting YouTube channel which will trigger their interest in using the language. When conducting a demonstrative speech as such applied in typical cooking shows, students are trained to use the imperative forms, instructions and fully utilizing the parts of speech that they have learned. Some examples are; Firstly, Secondly, chop, slice, put, a table spoon of, a cup of, mixer... etc, where these lexical items will enrich their vocabulary and also give the students some rough ideas on how to use them in proper grammatical structures. After watching these videos they may want to try out the recipe themselves and present a demonstrative speech in the next class where the enrollment will take place at the cooking lab/kitchen. They might also want to create their own version of Yoghurt Smoothie shown by Sarah Grace which will testify their creativity and variation in both palatal taste and speech choreography. They will be given an outline for their speech.
